The municipality of Pantón is to the south of Lugo province, in the area known as the Ribeira Sacra Lucense. Its boundaries are defined by the rivers Miño, Cabe and Sil.
It covers an area of 146 square kilometres, comprising twenty-six parishes, where about 3,600 people live.
The district capital is the village of Ferreira, which has a population of about 700, living around the N-120 road, which is the area’s main thoroughfare, and the Town Hall Square, where public and municipal activities are carried ou.
